El Greco to Velazquez

My erudite friend treated three of us to a scrumptuous lunch and the new show at the Museum of Fine Arts. Roni Baer has done an excellent job of curating El Greco to Velazquez: Art During the Reign of Philip III. The first two rooms feature many El Greco's from the collections of major American museums. But starting in the third gallery there are tremendous treasures, such as The Annunciation by El Greco borrowed from The Prado in Madrid. Some truly giant canvasses must have posed a logistical challenge to bring to Boston. The show is a real treat and I would highly recommend it.
